#14 - Choosing courage over comfort

Choosing courage over comfort is necessary to lead a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Brene Brown said integrity is choosing courage over comfort.

Integrity to me is living aligned with your truth, values and heart. Being true to yourself and what you want in life. But that requires courage, which isn’t action without fear, it is action despite fear.

In this episode, I share my personal journey of leaving my secure marriage and embarking on a journey and life of self-discovery and personal fulfillment.

Often the most enduring and persistent life regrets involve unfulfilled dreams and potential.

Your soul didn’t come here to play small and safe and settle in life. Your soul wants to experience your full creative power and potential. To expand, grow, learn and love life and others with a full open heart and joy.

In this episode we dive into the courage you need to follow your soul and realise your potential and some tips to help you tap into more courage.

Journal prompts and reflections in this episode:

  • When you look back on your life, how do you want to feel and think about it?

  • What will make you proud and satisfied about your life?

  • What do you aspire to do and experience?

  • What is the cost of you choosing security and comfort in life and work?

  • When you reflect on how you want to view yourself and life at the end of it, what different choices do you need to be making now?

Roadmap on finding more courage:

The RISK acronym I shared in this episode that gives a roadmap for you to develop and find more courage is:

  • Have a realistic outlook about possible outcomes (what’s the worse that could happen?)

  • Ignore your inner critic and the naysayers

  • Take small risks before big leaps

  • Kiss goodbye to living in your comfort zone if you choose a life led by your soul.
