What’s meant for you, won’t pass you by
If something is truly meant for you, it won't pass you by.
It’s easy to believe when life is flowing. Harder when you're still waiting for what you want… when the relationship hasn't arrived, the opportunity hasn't materialised, the path forward isn't clear yet, and you start to wonder whether you've somehow missed your chance.
Or when something that felt completely aligned just... didn't work out. The job that felt like yours. The person you were sure about. The opportunity you'd already said yes to in your heart.
Both are a test of faith. And both are exactly where this adage matters most.
Even though you know... you know about divine timing and trusting the process. You've got Eckhart’s books on your shelf. You’re committed to walking the spiritual path. You’ve found a greater peace that your younger self could have only dreamed of…
And yet, when you’re still waiting for things to land, the doubt creeps in…
Am I doing something wrong? Should I have made a move by now? Am I kidding myself?
The fear of missing out, of making the wrong decision, of somehow being the exception to the rule, can make surrendering feel almost impossible. Even when you know better.
And yet, what’s meant for you, will never miss you… even in the most ‘competitive’ situations or when the odds seem stacked against you.
What if the delays, rejections or waiting is all just part of things unfolding for your highest good? What if you trusted that more fully? How much more could you relax?
When we didn’t get the apartment
This experience reaffirmed my faith in divine timing and how things can work out better than expected - even after initial disappointment.
Embarking on apartment hunting in a rental crisis isn’t for the faint of heart - it’s a test of patience, resilience and one’s ability to not take rejection personally.
From the moment we stepped inside this apartment, we knew. This was the one.
The apartment had everything we wanted - within our modest budget (a miracle in itself!), large, light-filled rooms and a balcony with sweeping city views that took our breath away.
Within minutes, we were already making it ours in our minds. My partner Hana and I negotiated which room would be whose office, mentally arranged the furniture, and imagined fun game nights with friends, as the city lights twinkled in the distance.
I even tried ‘manifesting’ it by driving by and pretending I was coming home. Honestly, no-one felt like this place was ours, more than I did in those moments.
It felt like it was meant to be.
And then…
we didn’t get it.
Gutting doesn’t even begin to describe that moment. Cue the inner tug-of-war— trying to trust that something better was on its way, while simultaneously mourning the loss of “the perfect place”.
We knew the adage that ‘rejection is divine protection’, but faaark it was tough to trust in that moment.
Although we couldn’t see it at the time, that ‘no’ was rerouting us to something even better (so much so, that I am now soooo grateful we didn’t get that apartment).
Despite fierce competition, we ended up finding a place that not only met all our criteria but was even better positioned to make our commutes to work even quicker and easier. Oh, and it also had a city-view balcony so we still get to see twinkling city lights!
That initial rejection was a blessing in disguise and the way things unfolded was a powerful reminder that what’s truly meant for you can arrive with ease, at the exact right time.
As the designated researcher in our relationship, I trusted my intuition when it came to choosing which places to view. It was only the third apartment we visited, and just our second application in two months. For context, someone I know applied for 60 properties in the same area before finally being approved!
Now we hold certain privileges as white women with no children or pets. But on paper, our income and employment situation wasn't exactly landlord dream material with our mash-up of part-time work and self-employment. We couldn’t help but feel a little vulnerable ‘competing’ against city professionals with more stable full-time salaries - especially since we were searching at the lower, more competitive end of the rental market.
It shows me yet again that when you are open to receiving Divine assistance and follow your inner guidance, then things can unfold with ease. What's meant for you doesn't require you to force it into existence.
As Tosha Silver says,
“In the world of the divine, there is no competition.”
When you surrender, trust and take inspired action, you open yourself to what’s truly yours.
The ALTARS™ Method: six steps to trust that what's meant for you won't pass you by
Following are the six steps of the ALTARS™ Method, the framework I live by and share with my clients… the daring souls who want to move through life in deep relationship with something greater than yourself and open to receive what is meant for you with more trust, and less force and fear.
1. Ask
Always start with prayer.
Prayer is the most powerful tool at your disposal. Before anything else, bring your needs, your desires, your pain and your feelings to the Divine. Pray to a higher power of your choosing. Ask for guidance and for support. Invite your angels and guides to help you. Ask for courage and patience. Ask for your trust to deepen. Ask to be shown what you need to do next. Prayer helps you remember you aren’t doing this alone and opens the way for support to flow your way.
2. Listen
Once you've asked, listen for the replies through your intuition, signs and synchronicity.
The reply to your prayers won't always come as a lightning bolt. Guidance arrives through intuition, synchronicity, signs, a pull toward something you can't quite explain.
Pay attention to your gut feelings. Make time for solitude and silence. Meditate and journal to go inward. Act on inspired impulses, even when they don't make logical sense. And equally — don't be afraid to hold back if something doesn't feel aligned, even if it looks good on paper or you feel the stress of the clock ticking.
3. Trust
Divine timing doesn't operate on your preferred schedule - but will often make sense in hindsight.
This is where patience is more than a virtue - it’s a necessity. Mindfulness, journalling, EFT tapping, laying sprawled on the grass in a park - do whatever helps you stay present and not fight against the divine timeline… and do it consistently.
Keep trusting yourself, your inner guidance, that you are always supported and that things are unfolding perfectly, even when the evidence hasn't arrived yet.
4. Act
Surrendering to the Divine isn't passive - you still gotta take action. The question is what's driving your actions.
Taking a lot of anxious action may keep you busy and fool you into thinking you’re making progress. But taking inspired actions that come from listening and trusting your inner guidance, is far more efficient and effective.
So be pro-active, but flexible and open-minded. Take the aligned action you're guided toward, even when the outcome is uncertain, even when it defies logic, or when it requires a leap of faith you're not entirely sure you're ready for.
5. Release
While you're waiting on something to unfold, create the space it needs to arrive.
The Divine has more room to move in your life the less clutter there is - physically, emotionally, mentally or energetically. So release what limits and blocks you from receiving the highest and best.
Go declutter something - the drawer you've been avoiding, your overflowing wardrobe, or the back of the fridge where that half-used jar of miso paste from 2022 is hiding. Clearing things in your home, car or office signals to the Universe you’re making room for what’s next.
Shift your mindset toward what's possible. Not bypassing your feelings or toxic positivity - you don't have to pretend life isn't hard. But deliberate choose to notice and feel the blessings of you’re life and the potential for what’s to come.
Free up emotional energy by forgiving something you've been holding onto - an old resentment, past disappointment or a version of yourself you've been punishing. Be bold and release what no longer feels aligned in your life and watch what opens up as a result.
6. Surrender
Practice detachment as you allow Divine orchestration, as things may unfold differently than your mind expects.
This is the step most people resist, and the one that changes everything.
Detaching from a particular result doesn't mean you stop caring - it means you trust that the highest good will unfold. And yes, it may look different to what you imagined… but things have a way of working out even better than you plan when the Divine is involved. The apartment we ended up getting is a perfect example of this.
You are connected to an intelligence that has more wisdom and more perspective than your current vantage point allows. Faith means choosing to trust the process even when you can’t see the full picture.
Shift into the Receiving Frequency™ and be open to receive what is meant for you
Back when I first discovered The Secret, I thought receiving what I wanted required endless affirmations and visualising until it materialised. Tbh, it felt like a whole lot of hard work and was fraught with disappointment when things didn’t go according to my plans.
But I’ve since learnt there is a simpler way that requires far less effort.
And that is being open to receive the Divine grace available to you.
When you know you're an open channel to receive the constant flow of support, guidance and blessings that are your birthright (not something you have to earn or force) - trust and surrender come more naturally.
The ALTARS™ steps work, but the energy in which you move through them is what determines how freely things flow.
You can ask, listen, trust, act, release and surrender — and still be subtly resisting what’s trying to come your way and half-expecting it not to work out.
The Receiving Frequency™ is the energetic foundation that opens you as a channel.
It's the state of presence and loving gratitude where your heart opens and the Divine can meet you.
So you live in the frequency of someone who expects good things, because you know the Universe has got your back.
Your ability to receive might be blocked if:
You feel a constant need to do more… believing the more action, the better, to make sure things actually happen (even when your intuition is telling you to wait).
There's a tightness in your chest or arising anxiety when you think about what you want or need because you can’t see how things will work out.
The ease you've felt before, like when the right thing showed up at the right time without you engineering it, feels like a fluke or you “just got lucky” more than something you can rely on.
You know what alignment feels like, but you can't seem to stay there. One day you're trusting and confident things will work out. The next you're back in your head — overthinking, second-guessing things, carrying the weight of it all and bracing yourself for disappointment.
Those patterns are just what a closed channel looks like… and they're not who you are when connected to your true divine nature.
The Receiving Frequency meditation is a free 11-minute practice I created to shift you back into that state of presence, gratitude and openness — so you are clear channel for the Divine and all that is meant for you.
It blends heart coherence practice with channelled guidance to move you out of resistance and back into alignment - fast.
Use it daily as your recalibration ritual or when you feel your faith wobble.

And remember - you haven't missed your chance. The Universe is infinitely creative, and your path is unfolding in perfect timing.
